A body, believed to be that Richard Atwell, 74, who has been missing from his home in Bath since since Tuesday has been found in a car parked the near the Dundas Aqueduct at Limpley Stoke on the Kennet & Avon Canal.

Bryan House, known to all as Grumpy, died on January 8th at the Royal United Hospital in Bath aged 71 and his funeral took place at Semington Crematorium on Tuesday 21st of January.

2010 a bad year for the troubled K&A Canal Trust
Trust Council elects its fourth chairmen in four months!
Former K&A Canal Trust Chairman David Rees
The departure of the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust’s Chairman after only nine months and more trustee resignations was followed by a raft of cost-cutting measures in a desperate bid to balance the books.
Staff had already been sacked and now, with the ending of the General Manager’s post (part-funded by a local authority grant — with a year’s worth of the grant unused) the number of staff employed by the Trust had reduced from nine to three in 12 months.

Having terminated his post because of the perilous financial postition the Trust found itself in after two years of employing him —Mike Rodd was co-opted on to the board and immediately elected chairman in January.
